Renewal Timeline Calculator

Turn a renewal date into a 60-day commercial truck insurance preparation timeline.

This is not a quote, coverage recommendation, or application. Entries stay in your browser and are not sent to HaulCover.

When to use this tool

Use this tool when a renewal date is known and you want to work backwards to set preparation milestones. Renewal conversations that start close to the expiration date leave little time to gather loss runs, compare quotes, resolve certificate wording questions, set up finance agreements, or address FMCSA filing continuity. Starting the renewal process 60 days out reduces the chance that a detail discovered late creates a gap or last-minute scramble.

What the output is

The output is a milestone list with suggested tasks at 60 days, 45 days, 30 days, and 15 days before the renewal date, plus a renewal-week checklist. Each milestone describes what to have in motion at that point: requesting loss runs, sending complete quote information, comparing options, and confirming bind instructions. For a deeper page-by-page review, use the renewal checklist guide.

What it does not replace

The timeline does not account for the specific deadlines in your policy, finance agreement, or FMCSA filing. Some policies require earlier notice; some lenders have specific timing requirements for proof of renewal; some filings may need to be submitted before the expiration date to avoid authority problems. Use this as a planning framework and confirm the actual deadlines with your agent, finance company, and filing provider.

Enter the renewal date shown on your policy or renewal notice. The timeline is a planning aid only.
