What to include in a correction request
The most useful correction messages include: the URL of the page with the issue, the specific sentence or section that appears to be incorrect or unclear, the reason it may need updating, and a source that supports the requested change. Official or regulatory sources—FMCSA publications, eCFR sections, state agency bulletins—are preferred over secondary summaries or industry marketing materials.
See the corrections page for a full explanation of source standards and how corrections are reviewed.
Other appropriate contact
Beyond correction requests, the editorial address is appropriate for: reporting a broken link to an official source, suggesting a better or more current regulatory reference for a specific page, noting wording that seems misleading, or flagging a page that appears to be outdated based on a known regulatory change.
What HaulCover cannot help with
This site does not provide insurance quotes, coverage placement, live FMCSA authority status checks, legal advice, claim representation, or individualized policy interpretation. Messages asking for this type of assistance cannot be answered.
Do not send sensitive information through email or any other channel: driver license numbers, claim file details, policy numbers, Social Security numbers, payment information, or private medical records.
Response timing
Correction requests are reviewed in the order received. Regulatory or state-specific corrections take longer because the official source must be located and read before any page edit. Not all correction requests result in a page change—if the existing source still supports the current wording, the page may remain as is, though the uncertainty may be acknowledged more clearly.
For urgent insurance situations
HaulCover is not the right contact for time-sensitive insurance matters. If you have a cancellation notice, an authority filing deadline, a certificate request with a same-day deadline, or an open claim, contact your licensed insurance agent or broker, your insurer directly, or the relevant regulator. Do not wait for an educational site response on matters with operational deadlines.
